The year 2009 is indeed a struggling time for both economy and technology alike. But we still managed to push our capabilities to release products that can be considered a knockout hit. From Hardware to Software, Mobile Phones and Cameras – we all fancied about them and took a quick glimpse of what they can offer us. So I recalled all the releases during 2009 and picked those which can be considered a sure highlight.

Here’s my Top 5 Knockout List:

5. Apple iPhone 3GS – No wonder, the smartphone everyone is talking about landed on the top five of my list. It has been a big return to Apple and lifted its reputation to heights. Lots of application were written for iPhone and extended its functionalities – one of the reason why despite of the cost, everybody is craving to have one!

4. Apple Mac OSX Snow Leopard – Claiming that Mac OS X Snow Leopard is the world’s most advanced Operating System, Apple yet again delivered a fantastic release. We’ve seen numerous improvements from the previous version and most of the issues have been addressed quickly.

3. Twitter – Yes, the micro-blogging site gathered tons of the talks and buzzes around the globe. Its participation to global issues plus the increasing number of significant people/companies of this site has become an enormous ‘push’ for everyone to join the bandwagon.

2. Intel Core i7 – The company released their flagship quad-core processor and teased the gamers and enthusiasts to try and feel the power of this processor. Impressive performance has been seen and landed this one on the top of the chart.

1. Microsoft Windows 7 – Sigh, finally an Operating System stable enough to kick that crappy Vista out of the league. Performance and stability are comparable to Windows XP, if not, better – a factor Vista failed to accomplish. With XP dominating the industry for 8 years and counting, Windows 7 needs to push even harder because XP is a big shoe to replace.

That’s my highlights for 2009, what’s yours? Happy Spooning!
